49th Annual Samuel A. Green Scholarship Program (“SAG”)

The SAG Scholarship Program was created in loving memory of our founder and my grandfather, Samuel A. Green, who believed in the power of higher education and the right of all young people to pursue it. In his honor and to celebrate more than the 80 years since our founding, Firstrust will be granting $50,000 in academic scholarships to college-bound high school seniors, ranging in amounts from $1,000 to $10,000. We hope students from your school will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity by writing a 300-word max essay on the topic: How my college education will cultivate prosperity in my community.

Click the button below to visit the scholarship website, where students can directly apply. Please encourage your students to complete the application and submit their essay on or before the deadline of: March 23, 2018

Thank you for allowing us to fulfill our mission of cultivating prosperity in the community by assisting students achieve their dreams of a college education.

Sincerely,

Richard J. Green
Chairman & C.E.O.

The Penn Summer Mentorship Program (SMP) is a 4-week summer experience that aims to inspire first-generation and minority students in Philadelphia public schools to view higher education as an achievable and worthwhile goal. Participants partner with and learn from one of five professional schools at Penn - Dental Medicine, Nursing, Medicine, Engineering and Law. Over the course of the summer, students gain hands-on experience in one of the disciplines and the opportunity to explore a variety of career paths. The program is open to rising 11th graders enrolled in a Philadelphia public or charter school.

It is getting very close to the time of the switch in classes. We will not have time together every day anymore. As one of our last activities, I have planned for us to listen to something important together.
